THE JUDGES have now released their shortlists for all but one of the categories of the Classical Music Awards 1994, sponsored by Kenwood, and in association with BBC Music Magazine and the Independent, to be presented on 21 January at the Royal Albert Hall. Independent and BBC Music Magazine readers have already voted for the Personality of the Year and their choice will also be announced on the night. BBC2 will screen the ceremony on 22 January.

ORCHESTRA OF THE YEAR

Chamber Orchestra of Europe, City of Birmingham SO, Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra, New York Philharmonic, Oslo Philharmonic.
