Broken Bells plans first full-scale tour

Broken Bells - the indie-rock project of The Shins' frontman James Mercer and producer Danger Mouse - has scheduled a round of North American tour dates in May and June, according to a March 31 announcement. The dates will mark the duo's first-ever full headlining tour.

Broken Bells released its self-titled debut album in March, earning a No. 7 spot on the US Billboard 200 chart and No. 1 on the iTunes US album chart. The duo has so far played one-off gigs in Los Angeles, New York, Paris, and London, and at South by Southwest in Austin.

The band's first full tour will begin with a May 18 performance in San Diego and hit 15 cities in the US and Canada before finishing up in Athens, Georgia on June 11. San Francisco Bay Area band The Morning Benders will open for Broken Bells throughout the tour.
