Glastonbury 2015: Hot Chip review - Crowds this size are a reminder of how much the band has grown

The festival you see on TV really is just a fraction of the one that's going on in the fields

We arrive at West Holts in time to hear Hot Chip play 'Need You Now' before a patchy, but dancing crowd. “We've played here a few times, we've played the other stage, but this tops them all, thank you!” Alexis Taylor shouts, before 'Don't Deny Your Heart'.

He introduces his steel band before 'Ready For The Floor' followed by 'I Feel Better'. You can see why they're pleased. This sprawling collection of producers and songwriters have been playing together for 15 years this year. Six albums in, crowds this size are a reminder of how much they've grown.

The jittery refrain of 'Boy From School', nine years old this year, does away with steel drums in favour of straight up disco. “The first time we played that song was nearly 10 years ago at Glastonbury,” Taylor says afterwards.

Dan Snaith of Caribou joins them as they close with covers: a noodling version of Bruce Springsteen's 'Dancing In The Dark' segueing into LCD Soundsystem's 'All My Friends'.

Under the waving flags of West Holts, it seems that at Glastonbury, the festival you see on TV is just a fraction of the one that's going on in the fields.
