Barack Obama's final White House party line-up will make Donald Trump very jealous

Beyonce, Jay-Z and Bruce Springsteen are all expected to attend

While Donald Trump struggles to assemble musicians willing to perform at his inauguration, Barack Obama is planning one final blow-out at the White House - and has A-list talent falling at his feet.

Before he departs the building as President of the United States, The Washington Post reports that he and First Lady Michelle will host what they've described as one final 'grown up' party for close friends and major donors this Friday (6 January).

Those who are said to have accepted invitations include Beyonce, Jay-Z, Paul McCartney, Bruce Springsteen and Star Wars directors George Lucas and JJ Abrams.

Other famous figures attending are Bradley Cooper, David Letterman, Samuel L. Jackson, Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder and Chance the Rapper who swiftly confirmed his attendance via Twitter.

Whatever party you're at this Friday, rest assured it won't be as fun as whatever's going on behind closed doors of the White House.

Trump's inauguration is due to take place on 19 January. Despite the president-elect's team playing down reports that performers are refusing to appear, the only artists currently on the bill are the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and America's Got Talent finalist Jackie Evancho.

The latest celebrity to be approached was former contestant of The X Factor UK Rebecca Ferguson who wrote an open letter stating she'll only attend if she can perform "Strange Fruit," a song with huge historical importance in the US.

Controversy has surrounded the event ever since The Rockettes revealed they were contractually obliged to perform even if they did not wish to.
