Hugh Laurie, better known for his acting roles in television programmes including Blackadder and House, is now turning his hand to a different trade by starting work on his debut album.
The actor has signed a deal to record a New Orleans blues album over the next few months. Laurie, 51, has written a number of the tracks himself and will be collaborating with guest musicians to create an album he hopes will have mainstream appeal.
"I am drunk with excitement at this opportunity. I know the history of actors making music is a chequered one, but promise no one will get hurt," he said.Reuse content
