Country singer Kalie Shorr has announced she has contracted coronavirus.

The musician shared the news on social media on Monday.

“Despite being quarantined (except for a handful of trips for groceries) for three weeks, I managed to contract Covid-19,” she tweeted.

“I’m feeling significantly better, but it’s proof how dangerous and contagious this is.

"It’s endlessly frustrating to see people not taking this seriously.”

Shorr, 25, opened up about her symptoms, saying she felt “absolutely miserable” during the first days of the illness.

“I’’ve never felt like that before,” she wrote.

“My entire body was in pain, and my fever was like riding a wave.

"I completely lost my sense of taste and smell.”

Shorr, a native of Portland, Maine, is now based in Nashville, Tennessee.

She rose to fame in 2016 with the song “Fight Like a Girl”.

Her debut album Open Book came out in September 2019.
