Maroon 5 dedicate Super Bowl halftime show to former manager Jordan Feldstein more than a year after his death

Feldstein, also the older brother of actor Jonah Hill, died at the age of 40

Adam Levine dedicated Maroon 5’s Super Bowl half-time show to “Jordy” – the singer’s late manager Jordan Feldstein.

Feldstein died in December 2017 at the age of 40 of a blood clot in his leg, among other factors.

The manager, who was the older brother of actor Jonah Hill, was the founder and chief executive of Career Artist Management, and had managed Maroon 5 since the band was formed 15 years ago. His company’s portfolio includes Miguel, Rick Springfield, the B-52s and Elle King, among others.

Maroon 5’s performance at the Super Bowl was criticised before the event, with many people calling on the group to cancel their appearance in protest against the NFL and their treatment of Colin Kaepernick.

Following the half-time show, the band were met with further flack online, with critics calling the performance “lacklustre”. Levine took to Instagram soon after, sharing an image of the “One Love” light display that featured during their show.

“When we accepted the responsibility to perform at the SBHTS, I took out my pen and just wrote,” he wrote alongside the picture. “Some of the words that came to me in that moment eventually made their way onto the incredible lanterns that flew high and low tonight.

“We thank the universe for making our dreams possible. And we thank our critics for always pushing us to do better. One Love.”

He added: “And the list of words is... Forgive, Laugh, Cry, Smile, Share, Live, Endure, Embrace, Remember, Enlighten, Preserve, Inspire, Sweat, Fight, Express, Give, Receive, Elevate, Climb, Unify, Fortify, Soften, Dance, Scream, Dream, Educate, Provide, Inhale, Exhale, Persevere, Stand, Kneel, Overcome, Love, Listen.”
