One Direction have revealed the name of their new album in a teaser video published on YouTube.

Harry Styles can be seen arranging pieces of paper spelling out the title, Midnight Memories.

The upcoming third studio album by the boyband is set for release on 18 November via Syco and Columbia records.

Styles and fellow bandmembers Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne and Niall Horan were put together when they appeared on ITV talent show The X Factor.

The fivesome's newest single "Best Song Ever", released ahead of the new album, peaked at number 2 in the UK Singles and America's Billboard charts.

Last week the band were in New York promoting a behind-the-scenes documentary about themselves directed by Morgan Spurlock called This Is Us.
