Mumford & Sons have posted rescheduled dates for their UK tour after they postponed due to “purely logistical” reasons.

The band caused uproar among fans after announcing they had been forced to delay the shows, after the tour kicked off in Belfast earlier this week. Some fans claimed they had been left out of pocket because they had already paid for travel and accommodation.

"We hope you know by now, we never postpone shows lightly, in fact it's something we try to avoid at all costs," the former Glastonbury headliners said. "This decision has been incredibly difficult to make but in this case we have no other choice. The truth is that it is simply not humanly possible to play these particular shows at this time."

The band will now perform for fans at the affected shows in Liverpool, Cardiff, Sheffield and Manchester in June next year.

In a new tweet, the band said. “We're grateful for your patience. We really hope you can join us but if not, refunds will be available.

"New dates for the 4 postponed UK shows are now confirmed for June 2019. We're grateful for your patience. We really hope you can join us but if not, refunds will be available from point of purchase. Looking forward to seeing you all soon. M&S x."

The Mumfords' tour kicked off in Dublin last week and arrives in Birmingham on Friday. Their new album Delta has received mixed reviews from critics: The Independent's Patrick Smith said the album was "ambitious, but painfully earnest" in his review and noted how "virtually every track" follows the same pattern.
