The MTV Europe Awards, Billboard Touring Awards, and Latin Grammys all took place on November 5, with top awards going respectively to Beyoncé, Madonna, and the Puerto Rican duo Calle 13.
At the MTV Europe Awards, held at Berlin's O2 World, Beyoncé won Best Female, Best Video (for "Single Ladies"), and Best Song (for "Halo"). Other winners were Lady GaGa for Best New Act, Tokio Hotel for Best Group, and Green Day for Best Rock.
The award show was hosted by Katy Perry and Pete Wentz and featured performers including U2, Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Green Day, and Tokio Hotel.
At the sixth Annual Billboard Touring Awards, held in New York City, Madonna's Madonna's Sticky & Sweet tour won for Top Tour and Top Draw, which acknowledge the highest-grossing and highest-attended tours of the year.
Other winners included Keith Urban, who won for top tour by a group and Concert Marketing & Promotion Award, which is determined by online voting. The Eventful Fans' Choice Award, also chosen through online voting, went to the Jonas Brothers.
In Las Vegas, USA, the tenth annual Latin Grammy Awards were dominated by Calle 13, which won in all five of its nominated categories. The Puerto Rican duo took home awards for record of the year for the single "No Hay Nadie Como Tu ," album of the year and best urban music album for Los de Atras Vienen Conmigo, as well as best short-form music video for "La Perla," featuring Ruben Blades, and best alternative song for "No Hay Nadie Como Tú," a collaboration with Mexico City band Cafe Tacvba.
