Paula Abdul falls off stage midway through performance at Hard Rock Casino Live in Mississippi

As all great performers know, the show must go on.

Singer and former American Idol judge Paula Abdul certainly adhered to that adage during her performance at Hard Rock Live in Biloxi, Mississippi last night (21 October).

Midway through singing her 1991 hit single “The Promise of a New Day”, the 55-year-old decided to show off some dance moves and called on the audience to “c’mon”.

Marching forward towards the crowd, Abdul lost her footing and fell off stage, with video capturing the snafu.

Although the fan video cuts out following the incident – which saw the audience gasp as she disappeared from the stage – the singer reportedly continued the show as if nothing had happened.

“She did not seem hurt at the time of the fall and still finished like a champ,” a fan told People. “She stated she was a dancer, and falls and drops she has gotten used to over the years.”

Abdul has not spoken about the incident publicly. The show was the third on her “Straight Up Paula! 2018 Tour”.
