Cheryl Cole has defended her full-bottom floral tattoo, tweeting that she had "never really concerned myself with other people's body parts."

On Saturday, the tattoo artist behind the decoratively dyed derriere - Nikko Hurtado - used Instagram to post a picture of his work, provoking mixed reviews from fans and detractors alike.

And over the weekend, his client betrayed no regrets as she answered fans' questions about the tattoo.

One fan tweeted at Cole: "It's on your bum.. why do people care, they're not going to see it!!”

"Exactly," Cole replied, perhaps forgetting that the picture had been posted online, and appeared on the front of The Sun.

She later wrote: "People are entitled to their own opinion. Personally I've never really concerned myself with other people's body parts!"

Asked by another fan what her tips are for getting a tattoo, she said: "Be sure it's what you want is the biggest tip and find a great tattoo artist."

And asked to rate out of 10 how much it hurt, she tweeted: "More in some places then others but overall I'd say 9-10!!"
