Stones tackle Twickenham during three-date UK tour
The Rolling Stones are to play just three dates in Britain next year after their 34-date tour of the United States.
The three dates will have different set-lists and will be staged at different-size venues. The group will play on 23 August at Twickenham rugby stadium, the first rock concert to be held at the venue, and at Wembley Arena on 29 August. They will also play an intimate gig at the Astoria in central London on 27 August.
The Stones will also play 22 European cities during the "Licks" world tour. Mick Jagger said: "We plan to do three different shows, all with different formats and different songs. We are having stadiums – what we're known for. We're not doing too much operatics, keeping it more modern.
"We're avoiding all the baroque we did on the last tour. We have a different arena show for 20,000 people, then we have a very plain ballroom or theatre show."
