Guitarist has played the iconic venue, which is to be bulldozed, 27 times

Bombay Bicycle Club performed what is to be London's Earls Court Arena's last concert on Saturday night, and played the venue off in style with a surprise duet with Pink Floyd's Dave Gilmour.

Gilmour first played steel lap guitar on the band's song 'Rinse Me Down', before taking centre stage and giving an acoustic rendition of "Wish You Were Here" backed by Bombday Cicycle Club.

"This man gave me my first guitar and was one of the first people to play this venue and by my count has played here more than 27 times," guitarist Jamie MacColl told the crowd.

Earls Court Arena has housed the world’s largest water chute, welcomed the Empire of India Exhibition and hosted the most disastrous concert of David Bowie's career in its 77-year history.

But now the bulldozers are set to move in as the centre is destroyed to make way for a controversial £8bn redevelopment which will replace the West London entertainment hub with luxury flats.
