The Duke of Edinburgh, President of the Duke of Edinburgh's Commonwealth Study Conference, attends the closing session of the Eighth Conference and, as Founder and Chairman of the International Trustees of the Duke of Edinburgh's Award International Association, attends engagements for the Duke of Edinburgh's Award, Young Canadians Challenge in Ottawa, Canada. The Duchess of Gloucester visits West Hove Infant and Junior Schools, Hove, East Sussex, to mark the school's centenary; opens Hove Polyclinic and Mill View Hospital, Hove; and opens Martlets Hospice, Nevill Avenue, Hove. The Duke of Kent, Vice-Chairman, British Overseas Trade Board, visits British Aerospace Airbus Limited, Chester Road, Broughton, near Chester.

Changing of the Guard

The Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment mounts the Queen's Life Guard at Horse Guards, 11am; 1st Battalion Welsh Guards mounts the Queen's Guard, at Buckingham Palace, 11.30am, band provided by the Coldstream Guards.
