Taste of things to come: Hot, happening and opening soon

l Japanese sushi, Vietnamese shrimp rolls and Singapore rice noodles are all on the menu at Budokan Pan-Asian Fuelling Station (0117 914 1488), just opened on Bristol's Colston Street. This "modern Oriental food factory" keeps prices low by packing diners on to communal benches from where they can see their meals being prepared in the open kitchen.

l The five-star Four Seasons Hotel (Hamilton Place, London W1, 0171 499 0888) will take the wraps off its swanky new restaurant this Friday. Shaun Whatling's cooking at Lanes promises to be contemporary and eclectic - everything from lobster and mango salad with Tahitian vanilla-pod essence to pappardelle, slow-cooked rabbit and baby onion.

l From Thursday to Sunday this week the restaurants of Jean-Christophe Novelli, Aldo Zilli and the Nosh Brothers are to donate 25 per cent of their takings to the charity War Child.
