Eldorado (BBC 1) was launched to generally unenthusiastic reviews and unofficially confirmed viewing figures of 6.5m, as opposed to Coronation Street's 13.3m. An Oracle study found that 69 per cent of those polled thought the show 'rubbish' and wouldn't be watching it again, while 993 Sun readers found it 'a bore' (211 predicted a hit). The Sun also outted actress Polly Perkins as gay and revealed that the Roger Cook figure, Phil Wentworth, is wanted for non-payment of debt.
