The Great Age of British Watercolours (Royal Academy, 071-439 1785, to 12 Apr). Wonderful survey of the golden years of the medium, from 1750 to 1880.

Robert Adams (Gimpel Fils, 071-493 2488, to 13 Feb). Retrospective of a gifted sculptor whose reputation is again on the rise.

Declarations of War (Kettle's Yard, Cambridge, 0223-352124, to 28 Feb). Contemporary art purchased in the 1980s by the Imperial War Museum.

Bridget Riley (Ikon Gallery, Birmingham, 021-643 0708, to 20 Feb). The best exhibition of new work last year, now transferred from the Hayward.

Beardsley to Bomberg (Tate Gallery, 071-821 1313, to 14 Feb). Enjoyable survey of British drawings and watercolours from 1870 to 1920.
