In the aftermath of a violent coup, an epic and compelling story of self-sacrifice and revenge plays out as a young orphan discovers the shattering truth behind his childhood.

The first Chinese play to be adapted for the West, this beautiful new version by James Fenton of The Orphan of Zhao is directed by RSC Artistic Director Gregory Doran.
