13 Reasons Why season 2 trailer

The trailer for the second season of 13 Reasons Why has dropped and it reveals an intense mystery surrounding Polaroids.

"I thought this whole thing was going to be over, " says Clay Jensen (Dylan Minnette) in the new 13 Reasons Why trailer.

While the first season of Netflix's hit show chronicled Clay's journey listening to 13 cassette tapes made by Hannah Baker (Katherine Langford) before she took her own life, season two will focus on the Baker family's lawsuit against Liberty High School and a new mission Clay must take on involving these mystery photos.

It appears that Clay must work to help another student when he finds a Polaroid that says "Hannah wasn't the only one" in his locker.

Netflix's description for the new season of 13 Reasons Why says: "Season 2 picks up in the aftermath of Hannah's death and the start of our characters' complicated journeys toward healing and recovery. Liberty High prepares to go on trial, but someone will stop at nothing to keep the truth surrounding Hannah's death concealed. A series of ominous polaroids lead Clay and his classmates to uncover a sickening secret and a conspiracy to cover it up."

It answers questions left at the end of season one including: "How will Jessica heal in the aftermath of her assault? Will Bryce be brought to justice? How will Clay move on from the devastating loss of Hannah? What happened to Alex? What choices will Tyler make in the face of his social isolation?"

Later in the trailer, Jessica Davis (Alisha Boe) says, "The truth doesn't always make things right."

Zach Dempsey (Ross Butler) ominously adds: "It's going to keep happening. It doesn't stop."

In reference to what seems to be the Bakers' lawsuit against the school, Mrs. Baker (Kate Walsh) says, "There is nothing left worth having except justice for our daughter."

Season two also stars Brandon Flynn, Justin Prentice, Derek, Luke, Christian Navarro, Miles Heizer, Devin Druid, Annie Winters, Tommy Dorfman, Brian D'Arcy James, Sosie Bacon, Steven Weber and Samantha Logan.

13 Reasons Why is written, created and produced by showrunner Brian Yorkey, with executive producers Selena Gomez, Mandy Teefey, Kristel Laiblin, Steve Golin and Joy Gorman.

The series is based on best-selling novel by Jay Asher, which revolves on the unexpected and unexplained suicide of Hannah Baker.

The second season of 13 Reasons Why will be released May 18 on Netflix.
