A former Hollywood assistant has unveiled a series of sexist emails sent to her by her old boss.

Rosette Laursen had requested a day off, specifically for the 'A Day Without a Woman' strike on 8 March - a celebration of the value women bring to the modern workplace - when she received the reply which she has now shared to Facebook alongside her former boss' name.

Variety reports that Michael Enfield of Michael Enfield Management had meant to send the email to two of her co-workers but instead got sent to the entire team by accident. One email read: “Are you f*cking kidding me. At the end of pilot season. Someone should sew her vagina shut. I’m never hiring a girl ever again.”

The email exchange didn't end there with another reading: “No bonus for anyone that strikes or leaves early in pilot season. No one is striking in show business we are all against Trump. And women are considered diverse and being shoved in as writer and directors. Zach who is a Jewish male is being pushed out. Uppity Selfish c*nt. Heather went to work. I’m sure anyone at a casting office or agency would be fired.”

Einfield soon apologised to Laursen by sending her a text message.

It read: “I apologise for venting like a misogynistic faggot. I was letting off steam I didn’t mean to hit reply all. I’m an a-hole. If you come back we can play Nazi death camp. You can beat me and put me in the oven. Or feed me cabbage and lock me in the shower. I am truly sorry.”

Laursen, not convinced by Einfield's words, replied with “I quit” however was convinced to return to the office stating that while he “could be kind of terrible,” Einfield “was actually really cool and funny and nice.”

In the viral post, Laursen - who publicly posted the emails to Facebook after Einfield failed to respond to her lawyers after seeking legal action - wrote: “Many Hollywood assistants are underpaid and overworked, yet we are more than willing to do everything it takes to pay our dues to reach our goals and dreams. But in return there needs to be a basic level of respect from our bosses. Nothing fancy, just human decency.

I don’t want people like [Einfield] to get away with whatever behaviour they want because they know no one is going to do anything about it.”

Einfield has since issued a public apology which you can read here.
