Ross from Friends, also known as David Schwimmer, has been cast as Kim Kardashian’s late lawyer father in a new TV miniseries.

The US actor will play Robert Kardashian in American Crime Story: The People v. OJ Simpson, with filming set to begin in Los Angeles early next year.

The ten-episode series will follow the famous murder trial of football star OJ Simpson, whom long-time friend Kardashian defended in court.

Cuba Gooding JR will tackle the role of Simpson while Sarah Paulson plays lead prosecutor Marcia Clark.

The actors who will play the rest of Simpson’s “Dream Team” of lawyers - Robert Shapiro, F Lee Bailey, Johnnie Cochran and Alan Dershowitz – have not yet been confirmed.

The story of Simpson’s trial will be told from the perspective of the lawyers and, according to The Hollywood Reporter, will “explore the chaotic behind-the-scenes dealings and manoeuvring on both sides of the court”.

Based on Jeffrey Toobin’s bestselling book, The Run of His Life: The People v. OJ Simpson, the show will trace how the trial came to give the jury reasonable doubt and see Simpson acquitted of the crimes.
