Maisie Williams Knows the End to Game of Thrones

Another major clue about the Game of Thrones upcoming eighth (and final) season has been uncovered – all thanks to a lawsuit

Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, who plays Jaime Lannister, has been embattled in a court case with his former manager, Jill Littman.

As part of the hearing, the actor was asked to provide earning records, including how much was paid for appearing in season eight. Harper’s Bazaar report that the court documents show that Coster-Waldau made $1,066,667 per episode and also reveal how many episodes he will appear in.

Warning: spoilers ahead.

Still here? Well, the documents show that Coster-Waldau appears in all six episodes of the final season, implying he will survive until the very end. (Previous reports wrongly indicated he will appear in only four.)

Thanks to the hearing, we have also learned precisely how much the actor earnt per episode for season seven ($942,857) and that he received a $1.5 million advance of the show’s profits.

Speaking about the show’s ending earlier this year, the 48-year-old said it was a satisfying conclusion to the story.

“I wrote the writers when I finished reading and just said, ‘I don’t think you could’ve done a better job at finishing this story,’” he said.

“To me, it was very satisfying but also very surprising and all the things that I was hoping for. It still made sense. It wasn’t like one of those where the killer is suddenly revealed in the last act and you go, ‘Oh! I didn’t see that coming.’ Here, they’ve done a really, really good job.”

Game of Thrones returns next year. The first footage of the new season debuted in an HBO trailer last month.
