Game of Thrones Honest Trailer: 'It's like The Walking Dead, if they still had any b*lls'

*WARNING: Not only does this contain spoilers for season 4 and 5, but also for episode one, season 6 of Game of Thrones*

The Screen Junkies team have returned to recap seasons 4 and 5 of Game of Thrones, just in time for its return to TV; though all done in their trademarked Honest Trailer style, swiftly declaring it "the show that used violence and boobs to trick non-nerds into liking fantasy."

Well, they're not wrong there. Plus, the trailer goes on to point out exactly how much the show has shifted away from the grounded, near-historical realism of the first few seasons; becoming now a full-blown CGI creature fest essentially worthy of, "crazy heavy metal album art."

Though we always have our eternal favourites Tyrion and Daenerys at hand, there's also a reminder of the growing number of background characters whose names we can barely even remember; not to mention the fact even the swords are now beginning to go by titles.

Certainly, the new episodes will have their work cut out when it comes to upping the shock factor; with things having gotten particularly dark and uncomfortable in the last couple of seasons, though not always to the best of receptions.

Ah well, onwards and upwards; with the trailer looking forward to what's in store for Ramsay Bolton, here nicknamed "invincible Joffrey" thanks to his all-round despicability. Fingers crossed for a rightly deserved sticky end by the closing episode of season 6?

Game of Thrones airs on Sunday nights in the US, at 9PM on HBO; and will be simulcast at 2AM on Sky Atlantic in the UK.
