Only four days before the I'm a Celebrity final, contestant Lady Colin Campbell has made a dramatic exit from the show's 15th series.

The Royal biographer's controversial antics had pipped her as a favourite to be crowned Jungle Queen; notably her refusal to take part in a number of the Bushtucker Trials, refusing to do laundry, yet nonchalantly chowing down on creepy crawlies with a knife and fork. She's certainly not been popular amongst fellow contestants, with the recently booted Yvette Fielding, of TV's Most Haunted, branding her both "vile" and "strange". Fair enough, thinking cutlery etiquette still applies for live crickets isn't exactly the average reaction.

Popular opinion has been fairly split on her departure; some bemoaning that the show's now a pointless watch without her outspoken presence, while others are glad to see the end of her continuing personal attacks against other contestants. This is the woman who called Duncan Bannatyne a "vain old goat", admittedly.

The news was confirmed on the I'm a Celebrity website in a statement which details, "During her time in the jungle, Lady C locked horns with many of her fellow Campmates. It's fair to say she'll be missed by Kieron in particular though, who she struck up a strong bond with. Only yesterday the pair were laughing and chatting about sport, and how Lady C was a big fan of Cristiano Ronaldo. And, in particular, his body! She's certainly delivered some jungle drama over the last few weeks. For now though, farewell Lady C."

Campbell's son Dima Ziadie has provided futher confirmation, also reassuring that though Campbell has left the show, fans have no need to worry.

ITV have also confirmed that the latest viewer vote has been cancelled, with those voting by phone receiving the option to claim a full refund. A new vote will now be staged on tonight's show as a substitute.

Spencer Matthews was also forced to quit the show after a confession to the use of steroids.
