Peaky Blinders season 4: BBC gangster series gets US Netflix release date

It'll drop once all six episodes have aired in the UK

Peaky Blinders returned for its fourth run in the UK last week and already as a US premiere date set - Netflix will make all episodes available next month.

The Steven Knight-created gangster series which stars Cillian Murphy will be added to the US version of the streaming service on 21 December once the six episodes have aired on BBC Two in the UK, according to Deadline.

Peaky Blinders season four sees the return of Murphy and Helen McCrory alongside Paul Sparks, Joe Cole and Tom Hardy with Oscar-winning actor Adrien Brody and Game of Thrones' Aidan Gillen joining the cast.

The story centres on a mysterious letter received by Thomas Shelby (Murphy) on Christmas Eve which leads him to realise his gang are in danger of “annihilation.”

When the series returns on Netflix, it will come without The Weinstein Company attached - in light of the sexual assault and harassment allegations against producer Harvey Weinstein, the streaming service has etched the company from all three past seasons - already available to watch - as well as the forthcoming run.

While not a TWC production, the popular series was acquired by the company in 2013 when the US TV rights were sold following its success on BBC Two. The company's name has only ever appeared on the series in the US.

Peaky Blinders - which has been renewed for a fifth series - continues on BBC Two every Wednesday
