Netflix has officially confirmed Stranger Things 3 is happening.
The show’s creators, the Duffer Brothers, previously revealed we should expect another instalment, even hinting at a fourth season.
"We’re thinking it will be a four-season thing and then out… Though I don't know if we can justify something bad happening to them once a year."
Chief Hopper actor David Harbour spoke to The Independent earlier this year, saying the show could even go until season five.
“We’re talking about ending Stranger Things at either season four or season five,” the actor said. “I know there is an end to the story. It’s a very beautiful end, which we want to tell and then get out.

“We’ll see how long it goes. But there is a definite end to the story, which I’m excited for. We’ve already been laying out the pipework. There are Easter eggs in season one that you won’t get until season four. You’ll look back and say, ‘we’ve been seeing this story the whole time, we just haven’t realised it’. To me, that’s wonderful.”
The Duffer Brothers will return as executive producers for the third season, as will Dan Cohen and Iain Patterson. Shawn Levy, who directed episodes of season two, will also executive produce.
The first two seasons of Stranger Things are currently streaming on Netflix.
