Chris Evans gave Top Gear his best shot, but, unfortunately, he was unable to fill the well-worn shoes left behind by Jeremy Clarkson, James May, and Richard Hammond.

With his resignation as the show’s host, attention has quickly turned to the ex-presenters new Amazon Prime motoring show, The Grand Tour.

The first episode of the series shot in Johannesburg over the weekend, Clarkson revealing beforehand he was so nervous about filming the show he was ‘crapping’ himself.

Filming seemingly over, the first images from the set have emerged online, showing the trio in action, debating cars with an entirely breathtaking backdrop of South Africa.

Also shown in the images is the show’s logo; a stylised ‘GT’ with the show’s name written between the two letters. It can be seen hanging above the audience's heads.

Meanwhile, May recently said he was “chuffed” Evans had left Top Gear, something Clarkson soon denied his co-presenter said on Twitter despite the video evidence.

There are also tickets for The Grand Tour’s UK show available through a prize draw via Amazon, with other tickets soon to be raffled off.
