WandaVision reveals crucial detail about Thanos’ Avengers: Infinity War finger-snap
Returning had some heartbreaking consequences for those who vanished
The latest episode of WandaVision directly linked to the events of Avengers: Infinity War – namely Thanos wiping out half of existence by snapping his fingers.
Disney+’s Marvel series flashed back to the moment where Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) put on the Infinity Gauntlet to restore balance and bring back all who vanished after Thanos’s destructive action.
Through the perspective of the superheroes, this brought back Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman), Spider-Man (Tom Holland, Wasp (Evangeline Lilly) and many others who had disappeared just in time to help their friends overcome Thanos and his army.
While Spider-Man: Far From Home is set after the events of the blip, it’s actually set quite a time afterward. It wasn’t until the fourth episode of WandaVision that we truly get a sense of what actually happened to those who blipped (the moments played out side-by-side in real time is extremely chilling).

The opening scene shows Monica Rambeaux (Teyonah Parris) return while lying on a hospital bed. She leaves the room to find destruction – as everyone returns, the building is becoming too packed and everyone is rushing around in a state of panic.
It turns out Rambeaux was there to wait for her mother Maria to be discharged following surgery. She finds her mother’s doctor who is surprised to see Monica. It has, after all, been five years. Visibly shocked, Monica tells her she believes she napped for just 20 minutes.
It’s also worth noting that, as Monica returns, she hears an exchange she had with Captain Marvel (Brie Larson) as a young girl. It seems she was recovering her memories after being wiped out. For those who don’t remember, Monica is the young girl played by Akira and Azari Akbar in 2019’s Captain Marvel.
The episode also hones in on another heartbreaking aspect to Thanos’ blip. During her time away, Monica’s mother’s cancer returned, and she died. When Monica returned, her cancer was in remission and she was ready to take her mother home.
WandaVision continues every Friday for the next five weeks on Disney+.
