YOU: Netflix's 10-part thriller - trailer

Netflix‘s popular stalker series You is returning for a second season in December, it has been announced.

The show’s star, Penn Badgley, revealed via a Twitter post that You will pick up where its first series left off on 26 December, 2019.

Badgely will reprise his role as the murderous bookstore manager Joe Goldberg, while Victoria Pedretti (Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Haunting of Hill House) will play Love Quinn, a possible new love interest for Joe.

Other new cast additions include Melanie Fields as Sunrise, a blogger and stay-at-home mother, and Magda Apaonwicz as Sandy, a woman from Joe’s past.

The new series will take place in Los Angeles, after Joe is forced to flee New York due to increasing suspicions around the growing body-count connected to him.

Series co-creator Sera Gamble told Vanity Fair: “There’s a lot of great material in the second book that we’re gonna do, starting with being in Los Angeles.

“It so happened (with series one) that a lot of stuff remained intact, but the guiding principle has always been to kind of bring to life the spirit of the story, and not to obsess too much over plot details.”
