This US legal drama won an army of devotees and a clutch of awards with its first series, a dark, edgy story of sex, violence and corruption centred on hotshot Manhattan lawyer Patty Hewes.
In the second series, Glenn Close's lead is once again the fulcrum for a tense, labyrinthine narrative, but the twists and turns feel a little forced and the rest of the cast is given too little material. The door is left open for a third season, but perhaps it's time to call it a day.
