Louisa Lytton has become the first of 12 celebrities to be eliminated from Channel 4's The Jump after coming last in the air jump challenge.

The EastEnders actress scored one of the worst times in the skeleton event - a race that involves sledging down an icy track face first - and had to compete in the air jump for a chance to stay in the competition.

The 26-year-old, who had never skiied before appearing on the show, fractured her wrist while practising on the slopes.

'I'm gutted to be the first to go, but I am so pleased with what I have achieved,' she said

'I think it would have been nice to see how much I could have pushed myself but I think now I can relax more. And stop having nightmares.'

Lytton, who will now act as a first standby in the series, said she hoped Olympic gymnast Beth Tweddle would win.

Now in its third series, The Jump will take place over six consecutive weeks for the first time this year.

Linford Christie, Rebecca Adlington, Beth Tweddle, Brian McFadden, Sid Owen, Sarah Harding, Mark Francis Vandelli, James Argent, Tamara Beckwith, Tina Hobley and Dean Cain remain in the competition.

The Jump continues next Sunday on Channel 4 at 7.30pm.
