A FIFTIES coffee bar and a Twenties palm court have reappeared this week - at the National Museum of Labour History in Manchester. They are part of the Musicians Union's centenary exhibition, where there is also material ranging from the revival of the Proms to the orchestras of the North. No cracks about the MU in a museum, please, since it has plenty to say for itself about current campaigns. Before the exhibition closes next February it should have results to show on at least one of them: see the top story in this column . . .
