Upbeat: Lending ears
LONDONERS who turn up at the Westminster Music Library in the mornings to find it shut are told it is part of this year's council 'rationalisation'. There's an all-day meeting at the Royal College of Music today for librarians, managers and users which will examine changes at music libraries in general. This isn't a sop-to-protest session (it is organised by the International Association of Music Libraries), and news about local services and users' needs in general will be aired alongside wider issues. Admission is free.
