Russians huh? Not content with discovering a new and unstable element, they then have to mishandle it, thus tearing a temporal rift between 1955 and 2010. Reminiscent of Half-Life 2 and BioShock – though never hitting the heights of either – Singularity is a traditional FPS whose functional graphics and repetitive gameplay are saved by fast-pacing and the amusing Time Manipulation Device that enables the player to freeze, mutate and even age the enemy hordes. The gaming equivalent of watching a sci-fi B-movie, forgettable but, most importantly, fun at the time.
