GameStop thief calls ahead to make sure Call of Duty is in stock before robbing store

A man suspected of robbing a GameStop store in Nashville, America, allegedly rang employees ahead of his heist to ask them to reserve items he planned to steal, such as Call of Duty: Ghosts.

Police said the unidentified man told employees he wanted to reserve specific items including an X-box One NBA 2K14 and Just Dance 2014 because he was on his way to work and needed the items ready to pick up in an hour.

He allegedly told staff the items were for a child.

Later, the man appeared at the store armed with a gun and stole the items he had reserved, also stealing $600 (£365) from the cash register.

Police say the suspect, who is described as aged between 20 and 30-years-old, could be seen waiting on CCTV in the car park for two hours before carrying out the robbery. He was wearing blue clothes, white gloves and brown boots and is believed to be between 5.8ft and 5.10ft tall.

Metro police Detective Lt. Curtis Watkins told WJHL-TV: "It shows the individual had a premeditation to create this violent occurrence by pulling the hand gun out on the clerk.

"He wanted to get out as soon as possible. He knew what he wanted and he had a plan."
