Monday agenda: COP 15 in Copenhagen, a major art award is announced in London and the Mobile Excellence awards take place in Los Angeles.

The UN climate conference in Copenhagen that will frame a new deal for tackling global warming and its impacts beyond 2012 brings the Danish capital into the limelight with many government leaders and NGOs taking part in the conference in December. Many cultural events are organized in parallel in Copenhagen like exhibitions entitled 100 Places to Remember Before They Disappear, Nature Strikes Back, or the display of the laureates of the Earth Journalism Awards, among many events.

Turner Prize winner announced

The Turner Prize is a contemporary art award given to a British artist under the age of 50. One of four shortlisted artists for 2009 will be awarded the prestigious Turner Prize on December 7. Enrico David, Roger Hiorns, Lucy Skaer and Richard Wright are the hopeful candidates for this year's award - one of whom will be selected for the prize by judges Mariella Frostrup, Charles Esche, Jonathan Jones and Andrea Schlieker. A selection of works created by the artists is on show at the Tate Britain until January 3, 2010.
