Wednesday agenda: major design awards are announced in Essen (Germany), and fashion prizes are handed out in London, a big internet gathering in Paris, among other events.
Red Dot Design Awards
The world's biggest design award in terms of submissions honors the year's outstanding communication and product designs. An exhibition featuring the winners will open at the red dot museum the next day.
December 9 - 10
LeWeb is the biggest internet event in the European calendar bringing together speakers, entrepreneurs, investors, the media, and technology buffs to discuss a "new web" at le Cent Quatre in Paris. In excess of 1,800 participants will attend the sixth edition of LeWeb in Paris on December 9-10. Representatives from companies and organizations such as Google, Microsoft Corporation, MySpace, Facebook, Nokia, Opera Software, Twitterfeed.com, Seesmic, Creative Commons, TweetMeme and Shazam Entertainment will speak at the event.
British Fashion Awards
The UK's leading fashion prize acknowledges outstanding achievements of designers, upcoming talents and other fashion professionals such as models. Last year's winners include Stephen Jones, Jourdan Dunn and Luella Bartley, whose 2009 will probably finish on a less pleasant note due to her investors pulling out.
