Gugliotta, who turns 30 on Sunday, reportedly collapsed after boarding the team bus in the loading bay of the Rose Garden in Portland, Oregan, about 45 minutes after Friday night's game.

Little else was released about the incident, only that he was breathing when he was put in an ambulance. He was taken to Legacy Emanuel Hospital, which is only blocks from the arena.

Aside from his condition, hospital spokeswoman Fran Woodcock would release no further details about the player, saying only that doctors were "evaluating him."

Woodcock said a trainer and other team representatives were with Gugliotta, but that the team was not talking to reporters. The Suns play Sacramento tonight in Phoenix.

The 208-centimeter (6-foot-10), 108-kilogram (240-pound) forward does not have a history of suffering seizures or any other health problems. He has started all 22 games for the Suns and is second on the team in minutes played.

He had 17 points and 14 rebounds on Friday night in the Suns' 110-102 victory over the Trail Blazers and seemed fine as he answered questions in the locker room afterward.

Gugliotta, who played in the 1997 All-Star game while with the Minnesota Timberwolves, signed with Phoenix before the lockout-shortened 1999 season.

He is averaging 14.1 points and leads the team in rebounding at 6.7. He has career averages of 16.6 points and 8.8 rebounds in eight seasons with Washington, Golden State, Minnesota and Phoenix.
