Week's selection: the highest tower in the world opens in Dubai, New Delhi organizes its annual auto show, Las Vegas hosts the biggest consumer technology trade show in the world and Sydney's festival kicks off, among other events.

While its panoramic viewing platform has been open since early December, the world's new tallest building will fully open January 4. Armani's first hotel, located at the tower, will also be ready for occupancy that day.

10th New Delhi Auto Show

Essen 2010: European capital of culture

Angola will host the 27th Africa Cup of Nations in 2010, bringing together the best footballers from Africa to compete for their countries.

The African Cup of Nations is the second biggest sport event of the year in Africa after the football world cup in South Africa between June and July. The 2010 tournament will be held in four of Angola's cities - Luanda, Benguela, Lubango and Cabinda.
