Top nominated acts for this year's MTV Europe Music Awards (EMA) include rock band Kings of Leon and pop singer Lady Gaga. Many awards categories are now up for vote online. Hosted by Katy Perry and Pete Wentz, the event will take place at the O2 World in Berlin, Germany, and be broadcast live by MTV in more than 40 countries in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. Included in the performing lineup is U2, whose concert at Berlin's Brandenburg Gate commemorating the 20th anniverary of the fall of the Berlin Wall will be beamed via satellite to the ceremony. http://www.MTVema.com

Billboard Touring Awards

The Billboard Touring Awards, now in their sixth year, honor the concert industry's top artists and professionals based on data compiled through the global Billboard Boxscore chart. Madonna, US, and AC/DC are among the finalists for the 2009 awards, which will be handed out in New York on November 5. Awards include Top Tour and Top Draw awards, which acknowledge top grossing and ticket-selling tours, as well as the Breakthrough Award, for the top-grossing artist in his or her first decade as a national headlining act. The nominees for top festival this year are Bonnaroo in Tennessee, Coachella in California and Oxegen in Ireland. Additional awards, including a fans' choice category, are determined by online voting.

58th International Filmfestival Mannheim-Heidelberg

The 58 edition of the Mannheim- Heidelberg international film festival, which focuses on young talent, will honor Canadian filmmaker Atom Egoyan with the "Master of Cinema" award at the ceremony on November 6. Twenty-five movies from "newcomers" to cinema from 21 different countries will premier this year, in eight categories including 1945 in Germany and Children's Cinema.

Golden Horse Film Festival/Golden Horse Film Awards

The Chinese film industry's largest gathering goes hand in hand with its most prestigious awards ceremony (which dates back to 1962). The festival spreads out over almost a month and features 200 feature films, documentaries, shorts and animated productions from around the world - and it all leads to the Golden Horse Awards on November 28.
