Sailing: Louis Vuitton Trophy
November 7-22
Nice, France

Louis Vuitton and the newly formed World Sailing Teams Association combine forces to present the first stage in this new Trophy (previously called the World Series), following the success of the LV Pacific Series and continuing uncertainty over the 2010 Americas Cup.

Rock Paper Scissors: World Championships

Hand warriors of the world will descend on the Steam Whistle Brewery in Toronto, Canada, for the 2009 Rock Paper Scissors World Championships. The tournament sees a total of $10,000 prize money up for grabs with a grand prize of $7,000 going to the winning entrant.

Soccer: FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup
November 16-22

This year's Beach Soccer World Cup kicks off on November 16 at the Jumeirah open beach in Dubai. Top footballing countries have teams travelling to the finals. Spain, Portugal, Argentina, Uruguay, Italy, Nigeria and the Ivory Coast will join 12-time winners Brazil in the finals.

Golf: Dubai World Championship

This four-day golfing event at the brand new Jumeriah Golf Estates is the last stage of the PGA European Tour with a hefty $1.5m of the $7.5m prize fund going to the Championship winner, and bonus $1.5m from a similarly sized fund going to the end-of-season Tour leader.

Tennis: ATP World Tour Finals

The O2 Arena in London hosts the ATP World Tour Finals for the first time, as the eight best singles players and eight best doubles teams in mens tennis enter round-robin tournaments in this close season decider. Roger Federer is on course for a world record equalling fifth win, should he emerge victorious by the weekend.

Figure Skating: ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final
December 3-6
Tokyo, Japan

The International Skating Union's 2009-10 Grand Prix tour started with the Trophée Eric Bompard in Paris, France on October 15 and will have taken in competitive events in Russia, China, Japan, the USA and Canada before returning to Japan for the finals.

Soccer: FIFA Club World Cup

Six continental champions join the UAE's league champion in competing for a chunk of the $16.5m prize fund. European champions FC Barcelona benefit from a seeded place in one semi-final, as do the Argentinian team Estudiantes, Al-Ahli of the UAE, New Zealand's Auckland City FC, Tout Puissant Mazembe of the DR Congo and the Pohang Steelers from South Korea are the tournament's aspiring giant killers.

Surfing: Billabong Pipeline Masters

The last competitive event in the 2009 ASP World Tour is also the decider in the Vans Triple Crown of Surfing, three concurrent surfing Hawaiian tournaments. Mick Fanning and Joel Parkinson battle for wave riding legend Kelly Slater's World Tour title, while 21-year old Australian Stephanie 'Happy' Gilmore is the current women's champ.

Class 1 World Powerboat Championship, Dubai
December 10-12
Dubai, United Arab Emirates

The sixth and final event in the Word Powerboat Championship series that started in April concludes by roaring across Dubai's tranquil coastline. Prior to the series' penultimate race in Abu Dhabi, November 19-21, nearly all of the racing teams have an opportunity to storm up the rankings, so Dubai will be of critical importance.
