Ariana Grande has revealed she has a tattoo inspired by one of her all-time favourite actors, Jim Carrey.

The “7 Rings” singer made the revelation on Thursday, when she re-posted an Instagram Story from her cousin, Courtney Chipolone, who had just got a tattoo of a famous quote from one of Carrey’s most loved films, The Truman Show.

The quote reads: "In case I don't see ya good afternoon good evening and good night!"

Grande wrote beneath Chipolone’s post, “I got the same s*** but upside down”, adding a black love heart emoji and the name of the film.

It’s not the first time the 25-year-old has expressed her fandom of Carrey.

In April, Grande shared a series of black and white photographs of the actor on her Instagram Story, one of which included a quote from him on depression.

"Depression is your body saying, 'I don't want to be this character anymore," an excerpt from the quote reads. "I don't want to hold up this avatar that you've created in the world. It's too much for me," it continues before going on to associate the mental illness with “deep rest”.

The singer also referred to Carrey as “the whole LOML [love of my life] forever”.

Carrey replied to Grande on Twitter, saying he admired her “openness”, adding that he feels “blessed to have such a gifted admirer”.

The actor also pointed out that the concept of viewing depression as “deep rest” originates from his "teacher and friend”, Jeff Foster, who has authored books on spirituality.

Grande thanked Carrey for his message on Twitter, adding: “I don’t think u understand how much I adore u or what u mean to me.

“Thank u for taking the time to share this w me. You are such an inspiration [sic].”

Grande also joked that she “can’t wait” to tattoo Carrey’s Twitter response on her forehead.
