Supermodel Ashley Graham speaks to Lorraine about body image

Plus-size model Ashley Graham is being praised by women on Instagram for sharing photos of her cellulite online.

More than 80 per cent of women over the age of 20 have cellulite – you know, those dimples and puckers that appear on your legs and bottom – but nonetheless in a seemingly limitless quest for physical perfection, our culture constantly tells us we aren’t supposed to have it.

Luckily American model Ashley Graham, who is known for shaking up beauty standards, is reminding us that we should love our bodies, “flaws” and all.

On Sunday, Graham posted three side-by-side images of herself in a new swimsuit for her own line for inclusive fashion brand Swimsuits For All.

Taken behind-the-scenes of a photoshoot, all of the images’ angles showed off Graham’s cellulite prompting a flood of women to praise her for being “real” and allowing them to love their “imperfections.”

“She helps me realise my cellulite and hips are beautiful,” one person commented.

Another added, ”Thank you for normalising cellulite. It’s so unfair that women have to try to live up to impossible airbrushed standards thanks to mass media. I appreciate your body positivity.”

Of course, this isn’t the first time Graham has shared photos of her cellulite online.

The plus-size model regularly shares unretouched images of her body on Instagram in a bid to help other women love their bodies and empower them to not be afraid to be themselves.

Last year, she shared a close-up shot of cellulite on her thigh while holidaying in the Philippines.

“I work out. I do my best to eat well. I love the skin I’m in. And I’m not ashamed of a few lumps, bumps or cellulite … and you shouldn’t be either,” the caption read.

She’s even prompted iconic magazines like Sports Illustrated to ditch Photoshop.

Posing for its 2018 Swimsuit Issue, the model kneeled in the sand while wearing a stripy swimsuit and proudly displayed her cellulite.

Sharing the snap on her Instagram account she quoted lyrics from Kendrick Lamar’s hit song 'Humble' writing, “Show me somethin' natural like a** with some stretchmarks..OR cellulite.”
