A Cambridge student has hit back at Twitter trolls for their racist comments regarding her acceptance to the world-renowned university.

Courtney Daniella, who runs a popular beauty and lifestyle YouTube channel, revealed the extent of prejudiced comments she receives in a thread last week.

Having performed very well at school, achieving A*AA in her A Levels, she successfully enrolled in a degree in Human, Social and Political Sciences at the UK's top university.

However, envious trolls have been quick to demean her acceptance, claiming that she is simply fulfilling the university's diversity quota

Describing herself as "the best friend and big sister you've always wanted" on her channel, Daniella shared her experiences of racism with her followers in a series of tweets that acquired thousands of likes.

She explained how a man told her that her acceptance was an example of how easy it is to get into the University of Cambridge, accusing her of speaking in "slang."

"Do you think I write 'fam', 'rah' and 'peng' in these 2000 word essays that I write every three days and then just get tossed a 2:1," the student wrote.

"So if me with my intelligent, highly favoured, melanated, confident and well spoken self being at Cambridge makes you uncomfortable you need to fix your problem," she continued.

Her YouTube channel has had over 1.3 million views in total and she boasts over 30,500 subscribers on the platform, where she posts a mixture of personal vlogs and beauty tutorials.

"When people think of the Cambridge student, they do not only think of someone who has achieved A*AA, but that student has a race and a gender - a white male," Daniella explained to The Metro.

She also revealed that so far, she's only received comments such as these ones online, never in person.

The young student is actively encouraging any black women thinking of applying to Oxbridge to do so.
