When you buy a dress, you probably don’t want people on the street to mistake it for a dry cleaning bag.

That’s particularly important when you’ve just dropped £560 on it.

And while Moschino and creative director Jeremy Scott and known for their, well, creative takes on fashion, the latest creation seems like a step too far.

Scott’s managed to turn everything from Uggs to My Little Pony into high fashion must-haves, but he seems to have hit a wall by trying to make the humble plastic dry cleaning bag look cool.

The latest creation from the Italian fashion house looks just like the bag your local dry cleaner covers your freshly washed clothes with.

With US price tag of $736 (£562) , the clear dress doesn’t come cheap.

But if the likes of ultra-cool brand Balenciaga can release a bag that looks like an Ikea holdall and a skirt that looks like a car mat, you can see where Moschino got its front.

The clear dress made its first appearance back in February at Milan Fashion Week, where much of the collection resembled the pimped up remnants of a provincial recycling centre.

Kendall Jenner wore a cardboard box as a hat, while Gigi Hadid donned a dress that looked like an old rug.

UK luxury retail site Browns is now offering the dress for purchase by British customers.

The does not come with a slip to wear underneath, so wearers will need to come up with a solution if they don’t want to flash every passer-by.

It’s unlikely to breathe very well either, and we fear it may be at risk of fogging up on a particularly warm evening.
