Beyonce is a major coup for US Vogue; though not her first cover for the publication - she previously appeared in April 2009 and March 2013 - the singer reportedly hasn't given an interview in over a year.

The Beyonce cover also marks a positive step in the direction of improving diversity of models and cover stars in the fashion world as the remainder of September issues feature predominately white women.
