Rock chick's deal

Sibyl Buck, the flame-haired American rock chick, is the latest model to become a television presenter, following in the footsteps of Cindy Crawford, Amber Valletta, Tyra Banks and Veronica Webb. Buck, who says she loves music more than fashion, will present MTV's The Pulse. The show's producer/ director, Sue Hills, saw Buck in magazines and interviewed her backstage at shows in Paris. "She always stood out as having opinions and being animated," says Hills. When Buck is not modelling for Yves Saint Laurent, Chanel or Jean Paul Gaultier, she dresses in her own eclectic, thrown-together style. She has been known to travel between castings for jobs by skateboard. For the first programme, Buck asks her friends backstage: "Are models stupid?" She, for one, is proving to the world that some of them are anything but.

Paint it red

Yves Saint Laurent and James Bond are an unlikely combination, but YSL cosmetics is to introduce a new shade of red lipstick this autumn in conjunction with the latest Bond movie, GoldenEye. The lipstick will be called 007. There will also be Bond Girl-inspired gold and silver mascaras by YSL.

Scenting victory

The British fashion label Ghost has settled a dispute with the perfume company Coty, which planned to launch a new scent called Ghost in September. The perfume will now be called Ghost Myst. Ghost aims to launch its own perfume in a few years.
