Pret a Manger has announced that it will reopen all of its Veggie Pret stores across the UK this week.

All 10 locations – including nine in London and one in Manchester – will reopen on 11 June, after being closed throughout the coronavirus pandemic.

While customers will not be permitted to dine in, takeaway will be available at each outlet and the retailer will also offer delivery at seven locations for the first time via Deliveroo.

The Veggie Pret shops will be reopening with enhanced social distancing and safety measures in place, as well as a reduced menu of vegan and vegetarian dishes.

The launch will mean that many of Veggie Pret’s bestsellers, such as the exclusive Vegan Classics range, including the Vegan Eggless Mayo & Cress baguette, the Vegan Chuna Mayo baguette and the VLT, will all be available for delivery for the first time ever.

Clare Clough, UK managing director of Pret A Manger said: “We are excited to be reopening all 10 of our Veggie Pret shops this week. We know that many of our customers are working from home and missing their plant-based favourites, so partnering with Deliveroo means that more customers can access our extensive veggie and vegan menu.

“I want to thank the amazing teams who are re-opening our Veggie Pret shops – we couldn’t do it without your support.”

Tom Peters, global director of health at Deliveroo added: “We're delighted to be partnering with Veggie Pret as their exclusive delivery partner.

“At Deliveroo we've seen a 181 per cent increase in the number of healthy orders on the platform over the past three years and specifically an increase in demand for more plant-based options, both from our vegan customers and our customers simply wanting to cut down on their meat intake.”

This week will also see more regular Pret stores reopen across the country.

From today, stores inside several train stations, such as King’s Cross, Manchester Piccadilly and Leeds will reopen, while Pret locations inside shopping centres will also start to open their doors from 15 June.

So far, Pret has reopened more than 300 locations across the country. You can find a full list of Veggie Pret shops here.
