Current Google Insights trends: Wikileaks, Starcraft 2, Pole Emploi

"Wikileaks" tops the list of rising search terms as measured by Google Insights on the morning of August 2.

People from across the globe have been heading to Google to search for "Wikileaks," the name of a website that publishes and comments on leaked documents.

The latest Wikileaks release, Afghan War Diary, appeared on the site on July 25 and includes tens of thousands of previously unreleased documents from 2004 to 2010 referencing the war in Afghanistan.

Searches for military-themed video game Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty ("Starcraft 2") have increased by more than 250 percent over the last seven days. The video game was released on July 27, and people are looking on the internet to find Starcraft II reviews, cracks, cheats and torrents.

The last term on today's Google Insights chart is "pole emploi," the French term for employment service. Almost 100 percent of searches for the term originate in France.

The search terms with the most significant growth worldwide in the last seven days as measured by Google Insights, recorded on August 2 at 11:00 AM GMT are:

1. wikileaks (+2,350%)
2. starcraft 2 (+250%)
3. pole emploi (+70%)
